Michelle Lamb can help you with these questions and more. She is the co-founder and chairman of Minneapolis-based Marketing Directions, Inc. Started in 1987, the Company focuses on forecasting color, pattern and design trends for Home Furnishings and Stationery. She works with a wide variety of client companies specifying color, recommending themes and motifs, and providing trend direction for products to be sold both within the U.S. and in other countries.
Lamb is also Senior Editor of The Trend Curve(tm), the celebrated trend newsletter published six times each year by Marketing Directions, Inc. The Trend Curve forecasts trends in theme, color and motif that will impact product development and selection in Home Furnishings going forward. With distribution in the United States and abroad, subscribers include manufacturers, retailers, designers, advertising agencies and public relations companies. She also writes and edits a variety of Special Reports each year focusing on trends from the major European trade shows, such as Heimtextil, Ambiente and more.
Lamb consults for a variety of companies on color and design strategies, new concepts and product ideation, product formats and marketing programs. She has established a track record of success over her more than 16 years of working in trends for the home.
In her role as an industry expert, Lamb is a frequent speaker at trade shows and conferences, as well as company product planning sessions. She has also been invited to teach seminars about U.S. trends in foreign countries.
Lamb holds a B.A. in English from the University of Minnesota. She is a founding member of 't.h.i.n.k.', as well as a member of WithIt, Executive Women in Textiles and the World Future Society. She is a senior chair holder in Color Marketing Group (CMG), where she has served as co-chair of the Consumer Color Directions committee, co-chair of the Color Plus Design Committee and is a former member of the Board of Directors.
